[birding] White-crowned Sparrows nesting

I found a female WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW feeding nestlings in an island of
bushes down along the river trail in downtown Corvallis.  Multiple males
were nearby.  I think the intersection was Jefferson and 1st.  I admit I was
surprised.  The nest seemed pretty vulnerable to me.  Maybe the number of
dogs and lack of cover/habitat/houses keeps the house cats and raccoons
away?
