1. marcia cutler, nanette & i got to lobster valley road at 340 saturday morning. we went to 2 places that were suggested by someone who had done marbled murrelets surveys i past years. unfortunately, we did NOT hear any murrelets. we tried.
2. this area has continuous swainson's thrushes, many pacific-cloped & willow & olive-sided flycatchers, macguliievray's warblers around the clear cuts, etc.
3. we also are quite sure we heard barred and great horned owls, and possibly a spotted owl as well.
4. we went by alsea falls on way home and saw 1 AMERICAN DIPPER at the falls.
5. philomath sewage ponds had 16 least sandpipers and 1 greater yellowlegs.
