[birding] Vesper Sparrow at Fitton Green Natural Area

1. i walked fitton green for an hour or so this morning about 9-1030.
2. at the upper meadow (walk past the gate and bear left at the fork and took me 10 minutes to get to the sign) there were
a. 4+ VESPER SPARROWS down the hill from the sign
b. singing LAZULI BUNTING
c. WESTERN TANAGERS
d. juncos with lots of youngsters
3. along the lower road (walk past the gate and continue straight for short distance) there were
a. 2 more VESPER SPARROWS
b. many CHIPPING SPARROWS
c. a pair of HUTTON'S VIREOS that loved my pishing and came within 10 feet of me.
d. the usual swainson's thrushes singing, orange-crowned & wilson's warblers, white-crowned sparows, etc.
4. also saw a 2 1/2 foot long snake (brown & beige) - i don't know snakes.

On a Eugene-Springfield Chapter North American Butterfly Association (NABA) outing to Fitton Green Natural Area (Benton County Park) today we had a singing Vesper Sparrow around the upper prairie.
