[birding] German Barn Yard

Guten Abend zusammen,

this morning, Wake Robin Avenue in South Corvallis truly had the feel of a rural yard somewhere in Germany (or elsewhere in Central Europe). European Starlings were singing their spring song, a flock of House Sparrow was chattering away in a hedgerow, and from some taller trees in the distance rang the familiar coo-COOO-cooing of a couple of Eurasian Collared-Doves .... I almost felt transported back home, had it not been for the sudden appearance of  a flock of juncos and a couple of Black-capped Chickadees :-)

All together, I saw three Collared Doves .... same number I've found every time I've gone down there lately. It sure looks like they are here to stay, for better or worse ....

Happy Birding

Hendrik
