Hello folks,

yesterday I visited Stewart Lake (aka HP pond) from 3-3:30 pm and counted the following:

Eurasian Wigeon: Jamie's female with the pale throat was easy to pick out in the flock of AMWIs. Except for the unusual throat coloration, it looks like a normal EUWI to me.

American Wigeon: 66
Mallard: 4 (plus several domestic ducks)
Northern Shoveler: 14
Canvasback: 13
Lesser Scaup: 25
Ring-necked Duck: 3 females
Bufflehead: 1 female
Pied-billed Grebe: 1
Great Blue Heron: 1
American Coot. ca. 25

En route to HP, I saw 4 WESTERN BLUEBIRDS in a slightly unusual location, along Hwy 99 at the eastern edge of the parking lot of the restaurant "El Sol de Mexico".

Good Birding

Hendrik
