Hi folks,
Yes, there's another whole 1.5 square miles of E.E. Wilson Wildlife Area
on the south side of Camp Adair Rd. My daughter Martha and I took Heidi
for a walk around part of it this morning, in beautiful sunshine.
I don't know about the rest of you -- I've heard reports of clear skies
in Alsea -- but we've been in a fog pocket most of the past week, so
it's been nice to see the sun these past two days. Also stunning views
of Mt. Hood, Mt. Jefferson, and the Three Sisters when we were up on the
Luckiamute watershed divide.
A lot of people had the same idea as us. I've never seen so many people
out for walks on the refuge (not even counting the rabbit hunters). We
saw numerous robins, Yellow-rumped Warblers, Purple Finches, and the
typical assortment of sparrows, but nothing out of the ordinary. RED-
TAILED HAWKS are now mostly paired up. Spring is on the way.
Happy birding,
Joel
