[birding] Learning about egret behavior

After the last group of pictures I posted, Joel Geier pointed out that my
egret with the vole may have been looking for some water to 'wash' it down
with, not so much not wanting to share with me (yes, I would have turned
down the offer!). Sure enough, I went back and looked at my photos and found
some- not as sharp as the others- but valuable as a learning tool- the egret
was dipping the vole in some shallow pools for easier swallowing. At the top

My joy in posting the photos is what I learn from all of you amazing bird
experts! What a group! Whoever started this, thank you soooo much! I'll keep
capturing and you guys (and gals!) keep teaching!
