Hi All,
An interesting post from someone on the Hawaii Listserver that spells out how to display your CBC count circle on Google Earth.
Happy New Year,

I went searching around on the Internet to see if there was
a reasonably easy way to overlay the 15 mile diameter
Christmas Bird Count circles on a map. It turns out that it
is pretty easy to do using Google Earth.
Displaying a Christmas Bird Count circle in Google Earth
1. Type the latitude and longitude of the count centerpoint
in the Search input box. (Count centerpoints can be found
on the Christmas Bird Count web site. Note that various
formats are used for latitudes and longitudes. The CBC
site uses decimal degrees. Go to preferences in Google
Earth and make sure that decimal degrees is selected.
2. Add a place mark at the centerpoint (click on the little
stick pin in the Google Earth menu bar).
3. Use your web browser to go to the KML circle generator
at: http://dev.bt23.org/keyhole/circlegen/ <https://exmail.oregonstate.edu/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://dev.bt23.org/keyhole/circlegen/>
4. Type in the center point of the CBC circle in decimal
degrees and in the radius box type: 12070.08 (7.5 miles
converted to meters). The circle generator will display a
hyperlink (Your Circle is right here). Click on the link
and click OK on the various pop-up menus from your
browser to open the KML file in Google Earth.
5. Google Earth should fly to your CBC area and display
a precise 15 mile diameter circle delineating the
count circle.
As an example, I have uploaded an image of the Google
Earth display of the Honolulu CBC area on the HawaiiBirding
web site. This is just a jpeg image. If you actually use
Google Earth, you can zoom in, overlay various layers of
information, etc.
