[birding] The morning gull report from Coffin Butte

Hi all,

This morning four GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULLS settled onto the ice at
Toketie/Coffin Butte just as I was passing by on the way home from
taking a kid to school. A couple of them had darkish gray primaries so
may have been "Olympic" (Glaucous-winged x Western) Gulls.

There have been very few gulls around the landfill in recent days. My
hunch is that they're sticking close to their nocturnal roosts on
Waverly Pond and Grand Prairie Park in Albany, and maybe scrounging the
nearby fast-food parking lots in the daytime.

Happy birding,
Joel
