Hello folks,
Today's walk over to Dunn State Forest yielded a view of a BARRED OWL
around milepost 0.8 on the 400 road, plus a flyover flock of RED
CROSSBILLS of the "jip-jip" variety. Other typical forest species
encountered included Downy, Hairy, & Pileated Woodpecker, Red-breasted
Sapsucker, Hutton's Vireo, and Varied Thrush.
Along the way, I found nine gulls on the upper pond at Coffin Butte
Regional Landfill; all were GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULLS (fairly even mix of
ages).
Happy birding,
Joel
