[birding] Peoria Short-eared Owls

I was down on the beach after sundown today, with a big moon in the east, when I heard the (fairly awful) screechings of two SHORT-EARED OWLS from the other side of the river (in Benton County). Each changed perches several times, maneuvering in the trees, before they finally flew away, one after the other. These are the first I've seen this year, and a first for our yard list. Around here GREAT-HORNED OWLS can be heard most nights, and a WESTERN SCREECH OWL has been sunning (or fogging) itself in the doorway of our neighbor's Wood Duck box.

As an additional added extra bonus, an ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD stopped at our feeder today. The feeder's been there just in case a hummingbird stopped by, but even though we sometimes get visitors in the winter, we've never been able to keep an Anna's.
