Since I'm back at school in Monroe, I thought I'd drop next door to the "pooh pond". Nothing doing. The water is high so there is no exposed mud, and there are at least 4 pieces of large earthmoving equipment, which have been scabbing the sloped sides of the pond. A lone male woody circled and left. I'll let you know when the environs look more productive.
Meanwhile, this morning at McFadden at 6:30 am, a cow elk with a half grown calf in tow was walking across the now dry south portion of the marsh at the bridges. They stopped to stare at me. Wish I'd had a camera. In the northside bit of water were the two green herons, a GBH, and a great egret.
