[birding] mary's peak/philomath

1. nanette & i got up early and were up above the clouds on mary's peak by 630. we birded for 2.5 hours up there and there were lots of RED CROSSBILLS (we have no idea which subspecies), chestnut-backed chickadees, golden-crowned kinglets, and red-breasted nuthatches - and of course tons of juncos.
2. we did not hear a thrush or see a thrush of any kind, not even a robin.
3. we stopped at philomath sewage ponds about 940 and there was a WESTERN GREBE and 2 RED-NECKED PHALAROPES. there were zero shorebirds despite a good amount of green muck.
