Molly,
I was birding at Finley yesterday with Dave, Paul and Wayne and we got word of the night heron. We found it just above the bridge at McFadden's. I've posted some photos in a Picasa web album.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to see this one but a photographer brought in a fantastic picture of a juvenal Black-crowned night heron at McFadden's Marsh yesterday. He wasn't sure what it was as he'd only seen Bitterns in the past but we checked pictures of both juvs and it matched up nicely with white spots instead of streaking.
He got to watch it for awhile from the bridge so I'm guessing it was on the edge of one of the puddles as you cross it. This is also where I saw a lovely adult Green Heron perched on the bridge last week, it flew ahead of us and perched again, then jumped down near the water.
Molly~
