Hi folks,
As this afternoon's showers started to recede I was out back and heard
the first three notes of a YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT sounding off from the
brushy slope above our house.
This is the only bird for which, when I first hear them every year, my
immediate reaction is just to laugh out loud. I only heard it the one
time, and it didn't keep going with the full "song," but there was no
mistaking those three very loud notes.
This augurs well for the Chat-o-rama bicycle birding trip to E.E. Wilson
that Don Boucher and Lisa Millbank have planned for early May -- should
be lots of them here by then!
Happy birding,
Joel
