Okay, sorry about that - for some bizarre reason Google decided to send that
when I was hitting two keys at once...

Today at the Crystal Lake Sports Field in Corvallis, I saw dozens of SWIFTS
flying over. I assumed these to be VAUX'S SWIFTS (not Chimney as my early
draft mis-spoke!) even though I did not have my binos with me. They
appeared all dark, as I think Vaux's do in flight to the naked eye. I
remember from eastern Oregon that the White-throated Swifts were visibly
marked as such even to the naked eye.

The VAUX'S appeared just a few days after my first BARN SWALLOW of the year
- maybe arriving later with one another as the weather warmed and insects
increasaed. The V.G. swallows on the other hand, seem to be active near
their nest boxes.
