[birding] Evening grosbeaks

I've lived only 2 springs in my current house. Last year I didn't see any grosbeaks, but this April more than 18 male and female grosbeaks flock to my feeder which is under a birch tree. I've seen some of the birds plucking the bunches of "flowers" off the birch. Do they eat them? Each morning when I go to fill the feeder, they - along with juncos, finches and sparrows - are sitting in the trees waiting for breakfast.

Also, thanks to the great photographers for posting their photos to this list. It's wonderful to see so many birds "close up."
