I saw the bobcat last spring, running across walnut Blvd, by the horse barn.
It was headed west! Beautiful!

Hello,
I rode home from Albany today. I saw two Eurasian Collared Doves flying
together. They were near Riverside Drive and Meadow, near a school.

Today was the first official day of my retirement from Rush Hour Photo.
After a few errands in the morning I decided to celebrate by going to
Finley, regardless of what the weather was like. It was another great day!
I was watching the more tame GBH that resides often on Finley Road east of
Muddy Creek. It caught something that at first I thought was a fish but.. a
crawdad instead?

then leaves with the catch-

There were many egrets in Madden Marsh- ten or so. The cinnamon teal must
have been mating as the males were chasing the female all the time I
watched. My day ended with watching four or five immature eagles and one
osprey circle the north end of Cabell Marsh. I grabbed the binoculars first
and by the time I had the camera they were gone.

Paul,
Looks like it might be a small bullhead (like a catfish) to me.

About 3 PM Sunday, a BOBCAT ran across Grandview Drive outside Corvallis.
Bobbed tail, large size, and proportionally long legs were the things that
made me think it wasn't just a housecat. Also it had wild-animal jizz.
It was near the more westerly of the two places Grandview intersects Oak
Creek Drive.

Jim Anderson spotted, and Neil Lidstrom and I also had good looks at, a
NASHVILLE WARBLER at about 1220 today (4/15) at Stewart Lake (HP) in
Corvallis. It was last seen along the southeast side of the lake.
Yesterday (4/14) we had our first migrant Golden-Crowned Sparrows at Stewart
Lake, 2 in crisp alternate plumage hanging with 2 White-crowned Sparrows.
The same 4 birds (presumably) were still here today.
On April 9th we heard what we thought was a Black-throated Gray Warbler,
only to locate the bird and see that it was a singing Townsend's Warbler.
(Until they leave the area in the next few weeks, both can be around.)
No Red-breasted Geese of any indeterminate heritage were noted.

This must be our neighborhood bobcat! I hope so, as I haven't had any
news of him for several months. Last summer we observed him culling
the neighborhood rabbit population, bless 'im, and he's been seen by
other neighbors. Last fall he was hit by a car and taken to
Chintimini and expected to make a full recovery. Lucky you to see him!

All,
Sorry, brain lapse. We live at the eastern end of Grandview. My
neighbor now informs me he's seen 2 different bobcats hunting around
here.
