Subject: [birding] E.E. Wilson warblers, yellowthroats, yellowlegs

> Hi folks,
>
> It was a beautiful morning at E.E. Wilson Wildlife Area. On a 1.75 hour
> walking loop I heard at least seven each of ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS and
> COMMON YELLOWTHROATS, and finally saw my first GREATER YELLOWLEGS of the
> year (two feeding together on one of the more secluded ponds in the
> south part of the wildlife area).
>
> I counted 22 bird species that were singing today (counting ravens
> making a weird crane-like rattle in a display flight as "singing"). The
> one that had me most puzzled was a singing LINCOLN'S SPARROW that I
> eventually tracked down in the shaded brush below a small clump of
> conifers, which vaguely resembled their breeding habitat in the
> mountains.
