On our way home from the Birding and Blues Festival on Saturday, we saw a lone Sandhill crane flying over 99W near EE Wilson heading up the Airlie Valley. Hopefully it figured out a way to meet up with the rest of the flock.
Also just a note to keep an eye out for white-fronts as they pass through on their way north. I've seen a small group at Ankeny and today there are 20 or so at Finley but Baskett will be the true hub in coming weeks as they migrate along the Coast Range.

Birds are singing away this morning celebrating the sunny weather. We have wrentits near the office, meadowlarks full of song on the prairie and savannah sparrows and streaked horned larks can be heard at most open areas battling for prime nesting territories.

Enjoy this beautiful day~

Molly
