I have posted some pictures from the trip at the following link.
There are good pictures of the Solitary Sandpiper and the Ruff. Some poor pictures due to the light of the Short-billed Dowitcher, one with a Long-billed in the same frame for comparison.

Subject: [birding] fern ridge trip
All but 8 Corvallis Audubon birders missed out on a great shorebird trip to Fern Ridge. Not only was the weather very good, but all 8 of us got excellent looks through a scope on full zoom at RUFF, STILT SANDPIPER, SOLITARY SANDPIPER, PECTORAL SANDPIPER, side by side comparison of LONG-BILLED & SHORT-BILLED DOWICHER (with the expert help of Dave Irons, 1 of the top birders in Oregon), BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, WESTERN & LEAST SANDPIPER, WILSON'S SNIPE, and side by side GREATER &LESSER YELLOWLEGS. And besides the shorebirds a VIRGINIA RAIL posed for scope views as did SNOWY EGRET, GREEN HERON, PEREGRINE FALCON, WESTERN & CLARK'S GREBES, and many of the usual birds. It was an excellent trip!
