1. happy holidays to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. we added a new yard bird this morning - a FOX SPARROW. now i know we all see a great many fox sparrows at e e wilson and many other places, but this is our 4th winter here and the 1st time we have ever had a fox sparrow in our yard! and with the WHITE-THROATED SPARROW from last week (still here) that is 2 new yard birds in a week.
3. still have anna's hummingbirds, and the male seems to be doing some displaying.
4. still have a couple townsend's warblers.
5. and with both chickadees, both jays, nuthatches, mourning doves, brown creeper, a herd of bushtits, quite a few yellow-rumps (all audubon's of those i have looked at closely), towhees, juncos, couple flickers, 1 song sparrow, and an occasional house finch we feel we have a delightful yard considering the cold.
6. weather for brownsville cbc doesn't look too bad considering, and don't forget the corvallis cbc is next tuesday.
