[birding] Merlin in Corvallis

I just had nice looks at a MERLIN plucking and then eating what appeared to be some kind of finch in a tree along Sequoia Creek on Jack London St between Circle and Walnut in Corvallis.  It certainly wasn't what I was expecting when I looked through my binos, especially with the plethora of kestrels that frequent the area.
